What size do I need to order?

I have measured myself based on your measuring guide and the measurements I get lead me to 4 different sizes - 3 of the measurements say I am size 6, and the three others say I need size 10, 12, or 14. This is extremely confusing. Can you help please and advise which size I should order based on the following measurements which were taken once by me and then again by a seamstress:
Shoulder to waist 16-16 1/2 inches
Bust 38 inches
Shoulder 15 1/2 inches
Bust to Bust 8 inches
Shoulder to bust 10 inches
Armhole 16 inches.

I typically wear size 12 clothing. The size of the dress that I am trying to match this to is also size 12.
